The Council of the Gymnastics Ethics Foundation (GEF) wishes to announce that Alex McLin, the Foundation’s inaugural Director, will be stepping away from his position at the end of April 2025.

Alex has decided to move on and pursue new professional opportunities after six years of dedicated service. As the first employee of the GEF, he was instrumental in establishing the Foundation from the ground up, building a small, committed, and efficient team that has contributed significantly to ensuring a safer and more ethical sport for all participants.
Beginning in May, Alex McLin will lead the newly established Safe Football Support Unit, tasked with offering specialist guidance and support services to victims of violence in football.
The Council expresses its sincere gratitude to Alex for his sound leadership throughout these past years and acknowledges the substantial progress achieved under his direction.
Council President Micheline Calmy-Rey remarked that while “the Foundation will miss Alex’s leadership and dedication, it will continue to benefit from his significant groundwork that continues to underpin the Foundation’s ongoing efforts in promoting ethical sport and the protection of its participants.”
The Foundation will soon begin the search for a new Director. In the interim, Simon Geinoz, currently Head of Case Management, will assume the role of Acting Director to ensure continuity of the Foundation’s important work.
