The Gymnastics Ethics Foundation (GEF) welcomes the award rendered by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), which fully confirms the decision of the GEF Disciplinary Commission dated 6 February 2025 in relation to Ms Evangelia Trikomiti and European Gymnastics.

In its decision, the CAS Panel upheld the findings of the GEF Disciplinary Commission and confirmed that Ms Trikomiti engaged in score manipulation in connection with the 2024 Rhythmic Gymnastics European Championships (the “Championships”). The CAS decision further confirmed the four-year period of ineligibility imposed on Ms Trikomiti, as well as the joint liability of European Gymnastics pursuant to the applicable FIG Rules.

The disciplinary proceedings followed an extensive and independent investigation conducted by the GEF into multiple allegations of score manipulation at the Championships, originating from several sources.

The GEF welcomes this CAS decision as a clear confirmation of the quality, independence, and robustness of its disciplinary process, as well as of its commitment to protecting the integrity of gymnastics. The decision also confirms the crucial role played by individuals who reported information, cooperated with the GEF, and were called as witnesses in the course of the proceedings.

The GEF provides several ways to report concerns in order to protect the sport and all participants in gymnastics. Any complaint or information can be reported via the different GEF reporting channels.

The full CAS award is available here.

The GEF will not comment further on the matter.
